    Wallaroo Hats

Be Sun Smart with Wallaroo Hats

You wouldn’t go out in the sun without sunglasses so why would you not ensure day long skin protection by wearing a Wallaroo Hat? With a built in UPF of 50, they protect your skin and hair too. You can forget about constantly applying SPF, the protection is part of the fabric. Most beauty products now have an SPF; well UPF is the same except it’s for fabric instead of product.

Neelu, being a skin care expert, has set out to provide practical protection for skin against the sun’s harmful rays. She has the exclusive supply of Wallaroo hats in Ireland for men, women and children. Imported from Australia where they take skin protection very seriously, the fabrics used for these hats are tested by the Australian Radiation Protection Agency and block up to 97.5% of the Sun’s ultraviolet rays so they are proven to be reliable as well as glamorous.

A study done by professors at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the summer of 2008 found that twice as many cases of scalp and neck melanoma prove to be fatal than cases of melanoma on the extremities.

It’s necessary to protect your skin daily in Irish weather, not just on overseas holidays so the Wallaroo hats are a great investment in daily skincare. The hats are beautiful too so you can make a fashion statement while also protecting your skin and hair.

There are a lot of sunscreen options on the market today, but what is most alarming is that the number of skin cancers occurring each year is actually increasing. This suggests that not all sunscreens are effective at reducing the risk of skin cancer. A physical block with a hat will be an effective barrier.

    This season’s new summer
    collection has just landed
    in Neelu’s now

Colours are neutral and classic designed to complement classic summer clothes. Ecru, greens, pinks and blue as well as classic creams and blacks comprise the collection. Signature features include crushable fabric for durability and pliable two to 4 1/2inch brims for maximum sun protection. Most Wallaroo hats feature an internal or external drawstring to ensure one size fits all.

Perfect for daily wear, they are also ideal for wearing during sports. Golfers, walkers and runners chooseWallaroo for their function as well as style.

Wallaroo hats are favoured by celebrities and sports stars. Cameron Diaz, Kate Capshaw, Kim Basinger and Brooke Shields regularly wearWallaroo hats. Michelle McGann, the golfer, also wears the hats for work and play.

The hats are made in a crushable fabric for easy packing and available in an adjustable one-size.

    Serious Sun Protection

Neelu is serious about sun protection and that is why she stocks Wallaroo Sun Hats.

The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends the material of every Wallaroo hat with a UPF rating and a 3” brim or wider as an effective UV protectant.

The Skin Cancer Foundation is the only international organization devoted solely to education, prevention, early detection, and prompt treatment of the world’s most common cancer. To earn the Seal of Recommendation, a manufacturer must provide scientific data showing that its product sufficiently and safely “aids in the prevention of sun-induced damage to the skin.” The data is reviewed by a volunteer committee of photo biologists – experts in the study of the interaction between UV radiation and the skin.

    Criteria:

    • An ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) of 30 or higher
    • Acceptable test results according to the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colourists method or AS/NZS Standard
    • For hats, in addition to the fabric requirements specified above, a minimum brim width of 3 inches

You can’t beat our UPF 50+ rating

These fabrics are tested by the Australian Radiation Protection Agency and block 97.5% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet radiation, or UV, is present in sunlight. The Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF) shows how well a fabric protects your skin from solar UV. But remember, a Wallaroo hat only protects the skin it covers. Safeguard the rest of your body by wearing sunglasses and sunscreen.
