Home Made Beauty Remedies & How to fix Fake Tan Blunders
Honey & Salt Scrub
Salt scrubs are wonderful for your complexion. Using this scrub helps to exfoliate dead dry skin – revealing smooth, younger, fresher looking skin. Getting rid of the dead skin also helps to prevent wrinkles. Scrubs also help to get the blood circulating and help to remove toxins from the skin. Using honey salt scrubs regularly will keep your skin looking young and vibrant.

Salt
Is an excellent cleanser for skin and it provides the grit needed to exfoliate dry skin.
Honey is a humectant, i.e. it absorbs or helps retain moisture and it provides anti-bacterial qualities.
Coconut oil
Is not only excellent for moisturising but it has anti-bacterial, and anti-microbial and anti-viral properties which help to cleanse the skin of impurities.
Vitamin E
Nourishes and heals the skin.
Lavender Oil
Heals tissue, brings down inflammation and smells lovely.
This recipe is for one application for your face so you can double or triple the ingredients for your body.
1 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
1 teaspoon of honey
½ teaspoon coconut oil or vitamin C oil
A wash cloth
Mix the honey and salt first, then add the oils into the mix. Now apply the scrub to your face or body and scrub gently in small outward circles. Pay special attention to your nose, elbows, ankles heels etc.; these areas often tend to be dry or rough.
Run the wash cloth under warm running water, squeeze it out and gently remove the scrub from you face or body or stand in the shower and wash it off with warm water.
Apply moisturiser.
Do not use fake tan for 24 hours.
How to Fix Fake Tan Mistakes
Most of the time you may not realize you have made a mistake until the tan develops. If you have any dry areas, they will absorb more tan, making the area look darker between fingers and ankles. Joints like the elbows, ankles and knees are troublesome spots and tan may collect in wrinkles also, so take care when applying the tan.
Here are some easy ways to fix these mistakes.
Lemon
Is an excellent at lightening. Cut open a lemon and rub into the affected area and then rinse. Apply again if needed and again rinse. This should lighten the over tanned areas.
Use witch hazel on a cotton pad and rub over the darker area. It will lighten it and give you more evenness.
Try soaking in the bath tub with baking soda to fix tan mistakes such as streaks over large areas of your body. Pour 2 cups of baking soda into the tub and soak for 30 minutes. Use a loofah to scrub the affected areas while you are soaking in the bath. When you finish, re-apply the fake tan and it should develop more evenly.
Apply toothpaste
To fix tanning mistakes on knuckles, elbows or knees etc. Let the toothpaste sit on the area for several minutes, then rinse off.
Be sure to apply moisturiser after all of the above.
Use SPF (sun protection factor) minimum 25. Just because your skin looks tanned does not mean that you do not require an SPF, you can still burn. Remember, sunburn causes premature ageing, wrinkles and skin cancer.
